An experienced marketing consultant turned passionate doula. I have a bachelor's degree in business administration from UW and a master's in organizational leadership from Gonzaga. How will this help with your birth? Well, let's say that I've found my passion in doula work and have thrown caution (and my degrees) to the wind. I aim to show up for each and every one of my clients with that same passion, providing caring support and guidance to help empower women through their transformational journey to motherhood.
I am a mama myself to two beautiful babies. My first was born in 2021 and had an extremely rare neurological disease that was undiagnosed until some distressing signs paved the way to an urgent cesarian birth. We spent six months in the NICU at Seattle Children's Hospital learning to care for our child's very complex medical needs (he had a tracheostomy, was ventilator dependant, ate through a nasogastric tube, and required several medications to be administered throughout the day and night). Finally, we were able to bring him home where we spent five beautiful months as a family before he passed away. This experience has given me a heart to care for women who have gone through similar situations (NICU stays, unexpected birth experiences, loss, etc.). and white I hope none of my mamas ever have to experience what I've been through, know that I'm here to support you through the ups and downs.
My husband and I welcomed our second child in 2023, a beautiful and healthy baby girl. I am so grateful for her health, but we did experience some complications during her birth as well. The umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck so we ended up doing another cesarian when I had hoped for an unmedicated VBAC. After being released from the hospital, I also found out via a trip to the ER that I had postpartum pre-eclampsia. I've been around the block when it comes to my own births, and I'm still hoping that one day I'll be able to have my unmedicated VBAC.... maybe third times the charm?
I am also a Christian, and while I am happy to offer christ-centered encouragement to those who desire it (incorporating prayer, worship, biblical affirmations, etc.), I am honored to support women of all backgrounds in their birth journeys and will provide everyone with the same dignity, respect, and compassionate, educated care regardless of their beliefs.
